Touring Kotor Bay - Fantastic Lunch at Cavotica Mlini in the town of Morinj
At the far end of the bay from Kotor, is a lovely small village called Morinj.
Savo recommended we have lunch or dinner at his favourite restaurant here, Cavotica Mlini.
It is a family owned restaurant and has been here for many many years.
It is in an old mill and is at the base of the mountain which of course is only a couple of hundred meters from the bay as the mountains drop right into the sea in Montenegro.
The restaurant has a large mountain spring fed pond and creek that runs down to Kotorska Bay and you can come up the creek to the restaurant if you have a jet ski or small dinghy.
We enjoyed a beautiful lunch of grilled calamari, prosciutto, and chocolate soufflé to top off a wonderful experience.
I dipped my hands in the spring water which was clear and ice cold from coming so deep within the mountain.
There were many Mallard ducks living around the restaurant and its ponds as well as some swans and geese.
We arrive to Cavotica Mlini by motor scooter and reached the restaurant by walking down this stone path lined with a stand of Bamboo
Patio with the main pond below. We could see the sand at the bottom disturbed as the water pushed its way into the pond from below
Beyond Rob in the gardens is a set of stairs and path I explored which takes you to a small waterfall where some of the spring emerges from the rocks
Plantaze is the most well know winery in Montenegro. We were introduced to its red wine which is made from Vranac grapes It is very deep in colour and has a rich delicious taste with long legs for those of you who enjoy wine!
