Cruise to Petriti - Quaint Untouched Fishing Village

We finally finished as many projects as possible and decided to head out of Gouvia Marina and do some cruising.

Our water maker is still inoperable due to some parts we are waiting for but off we go!

First project was to load the new scooter onto the deck.  This proved to be easier than one might think due to Rob's excellent planning.

We motored to a part of the marina where we could moor alongside the wall and using the spin halyard and Rob's lifting system and voila!!!

Then, Rob secured the scooter to the deck with ratchet straps like the ones we use on the race boats to hold them onto the trailers except these ones are made of stainless steel so they won't rust.  Bungee cords strapped from the front and rear wheels to the hand rails on the boat will stop the scoot from scooting forward or back.

Then, we put the new cover made by Quantum Sails here in Gouvia, Corfu to protect the beast from the weather.

We motored south hugging the eastern shore of Corfu so that we could enjoy the scenery.

We passed a really sleek uber yacht called the "Madame GU"  Not sure who owns it but rumor is that it is a Russion billionaire.  He claims he does not own it but the russians seem to guard their privacy so who knows?  This is the largest yacht to be built in the Netherlands and is 99 Metres long!  It has a Helicopter hanger inside and we thought it was very sleek and the matching tender is something else!

We passed by Old Corfu on our way south and anchored iin Petriti, a very old and untouched fishing village.

The owners of the taverna in Petriti were very friendly and came to sit with us several times while we ate.  We also enjoyed talking to home on facetime and exchanging emails with friends.  (Untouched this spot but also has wifi!!!)

We had a lovely early dinner and watched the sun set on The Lodge and headed back out to the boat for a great sleep.

Fueling up in Gouvia, Corfu - 5 Euros fills the tank!!!

Who could resist the Greek Michelin Man?

OMG!!! The lift system with the spin halyard works!!!

Strapped on and tucked into it's new cover the Scooter is Ready to Sail

WHOA!!!  Madame GU Superyacht anchored just off Old Corfu

Check out the tender!!! -- And there is  a helicopter hanger inside....

Final approach to the Corfu Airport....

       Enough wind to Sail?  Wow!

      The Scooter looks good Rob!
