Mljet - Prozura Harbour
On Thursday, July 11, 2013 we sailed from Kolocep to Mljet, a highly recommended island for cruising in Croatia.
We knew we were in the right place when we saw numerous Moorings and Sunsail charter boats. Memories of the BVI's!
We came up the inner coast and decided to anchor in Prozura after consulting our pilot books.
Good choice!
Great shelter with no swells and very pretty!
Mackenzie and I pulled the paddle boards off the deck and paddled our way around the bay. Rob had a well deserved nap after completing several boat projects.
The water is crystal clear and warm!
After a swim and glass of wine we headed into the local restaurant, Konoba Barba.
Our server, Marco recommended fresh caught scorpion fish which Rob and I shared for dinner.
Kenzie had chicken but tried our fish and agreed it was amazing!
The Scorpion Fish was cooked over a wood fire grill and the cheeks of the fish are the delicacy. We ate the meat from the cheeks and it really was to die for as was the rest of the fish. Beautiful white meat and the grill flavours were fantastic!
Check below to see how the chef stokes the fire. He related to me that his aunt gave him the idea.
I am actually just sitting here at Konoba Barba having finished dinner and taking the opportunity to get the blog up to date. Yippee!
Enjoy!
