Mackenzie and Sandy's Last Day in Rome - Amazing Roman Food, Campo dei Fiori, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps and Dinner in Trastevere

On our last day we opted out of the organized tours and ventured out to see some of the sights we had not yet had time to see.

The highlights of the day were the Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, and the Spanish Steps.

It is clear from the photos that Rome has reached its peak of high season by the number of tourists.

It is also clear that we took the task of eating our way around Rome seriously!

We actually had to wait our turn to get in front of the Trevi Fountain for a photo.

We made our way to the Spanish Steps and did a little shopping along the way and finished by taking a cab back to Trastevere which was our favourite part of Rome for dining.

Trastevere has a lot less tourists as well so it felt good to be somewhere less congested where we could relax.

A wonderful 3 and a half days enjoying Rome and all it has to offer.

Great place to stop and have Cappuccino and something to eat in Campo de Fiori

This is fast food in Rome....

Procuitto anyone?   If they taste as good as they look we are in for a treat!!!

                How do you decide?

The Spanish Steps  They look like Bleachers!!!

We stopped in the area where the Spanish Steps are for a rest, a cappuccino, and a look at our map to plan our next stop which was Trastevere for dinner.  It is the area just to the left of the river and to the right of the "subway" written in gray.
