Visit to Old Kotor and Climbing the Wall to the Fortress

We rented a car and drove Mackenzie along the coast from Tivat to Old Kotor.

After a stop for a quick cappucino, we decided to climb the old wall of Kotor.

It is a very long climb and it was hot.  We climbed over 1200 feet and I am not sure how many steps!!!

Afterwards, we had a great lunch and cold beer at the Hotel Astoria in Old Kotor.

We continued around the bay and took the ferry back to Tivat.

Wonderful day!

                Our "Exotic" Rental Car!

If you can believe it, this is not all the way to the top!

Same but so beautiful I had to show you this as well...

You think these stairs were steep?  If it was easy, everyone would do it...

We felt like we won "Capture the Flag"

To understand perspective, look how small the cruise ship looks on the lower left

Rob at the top looking great in his new Euro Hat!

  OMG!!!

OMG!!!!!!!

This was definitely worth the effort to get to the top!

The stairs down.  Kenzie in the distance.

Not sure if up was harder or down?

Great view of the church which is about 1/3 of the way up the Old Kotor climb

  The inside of the Church
